Communications: research & strategy

Sophie Munro

Sophie has worked in research marketing and advertising across Europe and the Middle East, as well as at numerous New Zealand government agencies.  Her experience has given her extensive insight into ‘what makes people tick’ and how to translate these insights into measurable outcomes.

Sophie has contributed to work that has won prestigious advertising and communication awards at Cannes, Caples and the New York Festivals.    Her work in effective social marketing has also been written about in several journals, with one programme becoming a case study in US Public Sector journals for bigger rollout in cities wishing to motivate citizens about environmental issues.

Prior to returning to New Zealand in 2008, Sophie worked as a strategic planner for Proctor & Gamble CEMEA (through Leo Burnett UK).

While majoring in psychology, Sophie quickly realised her passion lies in understanding the consumer psyche.  This drives her to continually seek out the root causes of the many issues confronting today’s consumer.

Sophie is a proud Ngati Kahungunu descendent and enjoys sharing her culture with her family and friends.
